Governors act as a critical friend to the Headteacher and the senior leadership team. Their work is primarily strategic, focusing on the long-term direction and development of the school, rather than day-to-day management.

Holding the Headteacher to Account for the Educational Performance of the School and its Pupils, and the Performance Management of Staff:
Governors rigorously monitor and evaluate the school's performance. This includes scrutinising academic outcomes, the quality of teaching and learning, and the progress of all pupils. They challenge and support the Headteacher to ensure that high standards are maintained and that effective strategies are in place for continuous improvement. They also oversee the Headteacher's performance management, ensuring strong leadership at the school's helm.

The Governing Body has a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of King Edward VI High School. Our Commitment and Working Practices
