Music
At King Edward VI High School, our Expressive Arts curriculum is designed to inspire creativity, self-expression, and a deep appreciation for the arts. Through both Art and Music, students develop a wide range of skills, from technical proficiency to critical analysis, enabling them to become confident and resilient learners.

Key Stage 3
Our Music curriculum aims to inspire and engage students through practical activities. Students develop their skills as performers, composers, and critical appraisers of music. They learn to perform both as soloists and in ensembles, use musical notation, and critically analyse a wide range of musical genres.

GCSE
The GCSE Music course follows the OCR syllabus. Students study a diverse range of musical styles and periods, including Pop Music, Film Music, Concerto through Time, and Rhythms of the World. This course encourages students to explore their musicality and build the skills needed for further study or performance.
